Iris & Dan

A Wedding in Leros

Iris and Dan’s wedding was, in every sense, an international celebration. Having lived in different countries and coming from different backgrounds themselves, their lives had brought them into contact with people from all over the world. Their wedding, naturally, reflected that beautiful mix — friends and family travelling from different countries, different cultures and different chapters of their lives.

And there was one place where all these worlds came together: our beloved Leros.

There is something truly special about Leros. An island that offers a rare sense of calm and tranquility, a feeling of balance and simplicity that seems to slow everything down. It was the perfect setting for a celebration that brought together so many different people and stories. For a few days, everyone had the chance to leave their everyday lives behind and simply be together — discovering the island, sharing experiences and celebrating Iris and Dan.

Their wedding weekend began at Harris Bar, a truly special and much-loved spot, with perhaps the best view on the entire island. After being apart for some time, everyone came together again to enjoy drinks, dance and spend the evening together — as if it were the first night of a long-awaited reunion.

The wedding itself took place at the castle, in an Orthodox ceremony surrounded by history and breathtaking views across Panteli. The reception and dinner followed at Serza, a beautiful restaurant by the sea. A simple decoration inspired by the countryside, in shades of yellow, white and green, reflected the happiness, joy and effortless simplicity of the couple.

Having learned the hasaposerbiko, Iris and Dan were determined to dance it at their wedding. They took lessons together and then invited everyone onto the dance floor to join them and learn the steps. It became one of the most memorable moments of the celebration, with everyone dancing Greek dances together.

The party continued until the early hours of the morning, ending with everyone leaving with the best memories — although the celebration did not end there. The following day, everyone met again for a swim at Blefouti and lunch at Artemis, enjoying simple Greek food in their swimsuits, relaxed and carefree, with cold beers in hand.

Together, they experienced a three-day celebration that was never about luxury or extravagance. Iris and Dan simply wanted their guests to experience the island as they do — to see how deeply they love Leros, Greece and its people. And that love was evident in every choice they made.
